For a glorious Season Finale, Aiken Philharmonic invites you to experience the excitement, exuberance, and magic of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.  The fantastical Capriccio Italien is widely celebrated by classical critics and audiences as a brilliantly vibrant, sun-drenched orchestral showpiece. It masterfully transforms infectious folk melodies, street songs, and military bugle calls into an irresistible, danceable fantasy.  Perhaps just as iconic as Nutcracker, Swan Lake features one of the greatest and most emotionally powerful ballet scores ever written with sweeping melodies, dramatic emotional arcs, and brilliant orchestrations.  The Violin Concerto in D major is a pinnacle of the Romantic repertoire, celebrated for its soaring lyricism, fiery virtuosity, and intense emotional depth.  To punctuate this historic season, legendary violinist David Kim joins Aiken Philharmonic for this sublime concerto.

A celebrated pedagogue and highly active soloist, David Kim has been serving as concertmaster of the prestigious Philadelphia Orchestra since 1999--globally renowned as one of the finest and most innovative symphony ensembles in the world.  He performs on a J.B. Guadagnini from Milan, Italy ca. 1757 on loan from The Philadelphia Orchestra.
